What do I need to sign up for the service?
First, you need to have your Screen Actors Guild (SAG) card or be SAG eligible. We only represent SAG performers. Second, you must be a stunt professional. We do not represent actors though some stunt jobs may require acting skills. Third, pay the first month’s fee. Contact Bill’s for current rate information, 323-469-9980.
What does Bill’s service provide?
Answering Services
Primarily, we’re an answering service. That is, we field calls from production companies and stunt coordinators and other performers who need to get in contact with stunt professionals. This can happen two ways.
- A coordinator or production company may be looking for you specifically. They don’t have time to call around trying to find you, so they call the service and we contact you using the contact information you provided.
- A coordinator or production company may need to fill a stunt role and wants to look a several performers of a certain type. They provide the service with the criteria and we put together a list of performers that meet their requirements. We contact performers on the list and send you to the interview/audition. The production makes the final casting decision.
Production Information
After 15 years in the business we’re up to date on current productions and who’s coordinating them. We keep a current list of productions and coordinators and make that list available to our clients.
How do I get stunt jobs?
The best way to get started is through networking. And one of the best ways to network is to hustle. Basically, to “hustle” is to find where a stunt coordinator is working, go to the set and introduce yourself. The basic rules are to find an appropriate time to introduce yourself, be professional and don’t linger any longer than necessary. Politely drop off your headshot and resume and move on. Hustling is an art, which you will master in time.
I’m interested in getting stunt work on commercials.
We do not actively seek out commercial roles for our clients. If a production company calls us, we will submit performers that meet their requirements, e.g. gender, height, ethnicity, etc. Check with SAG or go online to find agencies that specialize in casting stunt professionals in commercials.
